Themed fairs will liven up Rua do Cais, in Tavira, throughout the summer, starting on Friday. The 19th Tavira Book Fair starts on July 19th and lasts until August 4th, opening the way for a sequence of events, where the 6st Mediterranean Diet Fair, between September 8th and XNUMXth, stands out.

Until then, and after giving space to literature, the fair cycle continues with the traditional professions. The 11th Feira dos Ofícios will liven up the area along the Gilão River from 7 to 15 August, organized by the Association of Arts and Flavors of Tavira, with the support of the Câmara de Tavira.

At this event, visitors will have «an opportunity to appreciate the diverse handicrafts of the region, as well as the traditional crafts and “live” work that are part of the Algarve's cultural heritage».

This is followed by the Antiques and Antiques Fair, between August 17th and 27th, which is also going to its 11th edition and will feature antique dealers from various parts of the country. Between August 29th and September 1st, Rua do Cais hosts the Tavira Stocks Fair, an initiative promoted by the Baixa de Tavira Association with the collaboration of local merchants, which has the support of community funds through the PO Algarve 21.

The first Mediterranean Diet Fair will take place not only at Rua do Cais, but also at Jardim das Palmeiras. The event will be held within the scope of the Portuguese candidacy of the Mediterranean Diet for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, led by Tavira.

This fair is a joint initiative between the Municipality of Tavira, Algarve Tourism, CCDR Algarve, Algarve Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries, VRSA Hotel and Tourism School, IN LOCO Association and Terras do Baixo Guadiana.
