The vocal ensemble «Desafinados», formed by students from the Lisbon Superior School of Music (ESMEL), will lead a concert of choral music à cappella (voices only) at Igreja de São José, in Ferreiras, municipality of Albufeira, on the 11th July, where the music of Portuguese composer Eurico Carrapatoso will be explored. The concert is free and starts at 21 pm.

The program includes three compositions from the cycle «O que me o vento de...», two excerpts from the work «Ay, que dolor!», which, according to Albufeira, recalls «the old music and the tragic history of D. .Pedro e D. Inês” and the composition “Marília”, work on a sonnet by Bocage.

The initiative, which is part of a project guided by ESMEL professors Clara Alcobia Coelho and Vasco Pearce de Azevedo, consisted in the preparation of two concert programs: one à cappella, with works by the Portuguese musician Eurico  Tick and another for choir/soloists and piano, with works by Johannes Brahms. The culmination of the project, after the official presentations in Lisbon, is a tour through the country, which includes the Ferreiras Concerto.

Several of the elements of the «Desafinados» choir, in parallel with their studies, are or were part of groups such as the Coro Ricercare, the Coro Sinfônico Lisboa Cantat or the Coro Gulbenkian, teach in Conservatories such as Setúbal, Sintra and Metropolitano de Lisboa and have participated in several improvement courses, of which we highlight the Aveiro International Vocal Music Course and the Vocalizze of the Piaget de Almada Institute. Seven of its members studied under the Erasmus program at the Kodály Institute in Hungary.
