Algarve cultural managers teach how to produce shows in Faro

Agecal – Association of Cultural Managers of the Algarve will promote in Faro the workshop «Production of Shows» on the 22nd and 23rd of June, a Saturday and a Sunday, a training action that aims to «provide participants with the fundamental tools and methodologies that allow them to plan and manage the various stages necessary for the production of shows of an artistic nature».

The training, which will be led by Cristina Braga, will take place at the association's headquarters, at Rua Dr.ª Mariana A. Machado Santos, no. 1, in Cercado da Atalaia. The workshop will have a maximum limit of 20 participants and will only advance if there are at least 10 registrations.

The themes to be addressed are: How to plan and manage an artistic performance; What are the steps in the production of this type of events; What are the producer's tools – checklists, work plans, schedules; How to budget the project; How to define work teams; and What is the legislation to follow.

The action is aimed at «people with an interest in the area of ​​organizing shows and events, without prior training». “An approach will be made to the basic methodologies and tools for those who want to start working in this area”, revealed Agecal.

The hours of this workshop will be between 10 am and 13 pm and from 14:30 pm to 17:30 pm on both days (Saturday and Sunday). Agecal members pay 50 euros to participate, while non-members pay 60 euros.

 

Trainer: Cristina Braga

 

Graduated in Cultural Communication, at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, she completed a Post-Graduate degree in Cultural Management in Cities, at INDEG/ISCTE. She worked as a production assistant at Ballet Gulbenkian, was executive producer at Teatro Municipal de Faro and on the Movimenta-te cultural programming network. She was the marketing and communication coordinator of the Cultural Promotion and Animation Division of the Cascais City Council and of the ACTA theater company. She is a trainer in the areas of cultural production and communication.
