Alcoutim's Physiotherapy Service now reaches 150 residents of this Algarve municipality, after the recent reinforcement of the team with another physiotherapist. «There are now three technicians working in the municipality of Alcoutim, allowing for a complete coverage of the territory», announced the Chamber of Alcoutim, which finances this service.
«The physiotherapy sessions are taking place at the Vaqueiros Day Centre, at the Martim Longo Day Center and at the Lar de Alcoutim, for users of these institutions, and at the Martim Longo Rehabilitation Center, for the general population. Last year, the home physiotherapy service was also created for patients whose condition did not allow them to travel, thus finding themselves unable to access this care», announced, in a press release, the City Council of Alcoutim.
The physiotherapy sessions are free, stressed the municipality and complemented «with hydrotherapy, in the municipal swimming pool in Martim Longo».
«For 5 years, the alcouteneja municipality has been investing in this care, which previously could only be carried out in Vila Real de Santo António. Improvements have been achieved with all patients and many of them have regained their functional independence», framed the Chamber of Alcoutim.
