Xavier Xufre, the controversial former mayor of Albufeira, elected by the PS, will present his book of political memoirs, next Friday, May 31, at 18 pm, at the Hotel Montechoro, in Albufeira.

In addition to recalling his work at the head of the city's destinations, in his work, “I don't forget Albufeira!” edited by Arandis Editora, Xavier Xufre makes a political analysis of some decisions taken by the executives who succeeded him, encouraging debate in the general population.

The book, which has a public sale price of 20 euros, will be offered on the day of the public presentation.

Xavier Xufre was one of the most controversial mayors in the Algarve, having been elected to the Council of Albufeira in the 80s, heading the PS list.

He was forced to resign his mandate in 1996, when a court case was being filed against him for alleged irregularities in municipal works, benefiting the interests of contractors.

The PS himself then pressured Xufre to resign, although his case has since been ordered to be filed by the Supreme Administrative Court.
