Olhanense players will raise the strike notice and they will play on Sunday against Benfica, after the club's board has guaranteed the transfer of a month and a half of salary arrears "immediately" and the settlement of the remaining debt, which, at the beginning of today, amounted to three months of missing maturities in the short term.

The guarantee was given to journalists after a meeting between the squad of Olhão team and the board, which took place this Tuesday at the end of the afternoon at Estádio José Arcanjo, by club president Isidoro Sousa and Olhanense captain Rui Duarte.

The Algarve player also announced that the announcement of the lifting of the strike notice should be made today by the Players Union, but sent any other clarifications about the solution found to the direction.

Isidoro Sousa revealed that he found the solution "this afternoon" and that the money comes from an investor "who is not from Olhão" with whom he has "a personal relationship" and that the granting of the amount, which is around 300 euros, it is done “without counterparts”. "It was a week of a lot of suffering, I'm very worn out with all this", he assured.

As for the benefactor's identity, he refused to disclose it and was very sparse in details about the investor, stating only that he had never invested in Olhanense before and that he is not linked to any club. "Nobody gave us anything," he assured, referring to other emblems.

The person who advanced this amount “is willing to be a hypothetical investor in the Sociedade Anónima Desportiva” of Olhanense, which is about to be created.

While assuring that "there is no commitment" to assign a stake in SAD to those who advanced the amount, Isidoro Sousa admitted that "there is an intention and this will be put in the General Assembly to the partners."

The president of Olhanense stressed that he fulfilled the commitment he made with the players "a fortnight ago" that he would give him news this Tuesday, "negative or positive". “They anticipated the problem. They shouldn't have done it, because what was agreed was today», he said.

The solution presented at the meeting was the payment, already in progress, of a month and a half of arrears. "I think that in the next few days it will be possible to pay the rest of January and February later on," he added. Money that won't necessarily come from the same person.

As for a possible re-candidacy for the club's presidency, Isidoro Sousa says he will have to "think a lot" and that he will focus, before that, "on solving the financial issue and, equally important, the sports issue", in an attempt to keep the club in the I League.

The next match is against the championship leader, but the president believes in a good response from the players, similar to what happened in Aveiro last weekend.

The meeting also served to "apologize to the group" for the arrears of wages, something that Isidoro Sousa guarantees he has always done and that he repeated this afternoon.
