The Bishop of Algarve D. Manuel Neto Quintas is in Alcoutim until the 10th of March, next Sunday, on a pastoral visit to the parishes of Alcoutim, Pereiro and Giões.

Today, at 11:00 am, the Bishop visited the Alcoutim Volunteer Firemen's barracks, where he blessed the image of S. Marçal, patron of the Firefighters.

D. Manuel Quintas highlighted the importance of the recognition and support given to firefighters, “benefactors, who love us, protect us and admirably are in communion with us”.

Even today, the Bishop of Algarve has scheduled visits to the nursery, Santa Casa da Misericórdia, Home for the Elderly and Alcoutim School.

During the next few days, D. Manuel Quintas will visit several villages in the parishes of Giões, Alcoutim and Pereiro to pray with the local population.

A highlight was the visit to the Home for the Elderly of Balurcos, at 15:00 on Friday (8th). The conclusion of the pastoral visit, on Sunday, is marked by the Eucharist in Giões (10:00) and Alcoutim (12:00).
