The Associação Movimento Juvenil (MOJU) of Olhão and the Sociedade Recreativa Progresso Olhanense will once again promote a Traditional Carnival Ball on Saturday night. The event "Mó Carnaval" aims to revive "the famous dances of Recreativa Progresso Olhanense of the 80s and 90s" and is held for the second consecutive year.

Giving music to the revelers will be «the already famous pimba band from Oenguese Ivete Mangalho ea Rolinhas», according to the organization. There will also be a mask contest, with the MOJU awarding the most original costume.

This initiative is yet another in the line that the youth association of Olhao has been following, in an attempt to revitalize the old traditions of Olhão and transmit them to the newest inhabitants of the municipality.

Another good example is “São Mojuão”, which once again brought the popular festival of São João to Largo do Grémio.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the MOJU headquarters and at the Dr. Francisco Fernandes Lopes Secondary School Student Association or on the same day at the venue.
