Between the 22nd and 28th of February, Vila Real de Santo António will host the III School of Youth Development (EDJ) of the National Youth Council (CNJ), a space of excellence for the associative fabric and for sharing experiences and synergies between juvenile structures.

In 2013, the school will focus on offering three training courses for trainers, aimed at young people aged between 18 and 30, in the areas of Education for Human Rights, Non-Formal Education and Health Education.

Lasting a week, the training will bring together in Vila Real de Santo António dozens of young people from various regions of the country and will integrate, in parallel, a social and entertainment program in various parts of the municipality.

The courses are aimed at young people and youth workers who are able to act towards the construction of a pluralist and inclusive democracy.

The trainings are also an opportunity to increase proximity networks between the CNJ, youth and student associations, as well as public institutes that oversee the areas of youth, education and health.

In order to expand the event to the community in general, the three programmed training actions include a set of sessions with free entry.

The CNJ Youth Development School (EDJ) has been promoting training courses for trainers since 2006, and it is currently the most visible space in the field of Non-Formal Education in Portugal.

The 2013 edition is organized by the National Youth Council, in partnership with the Algarve Regional Directorate of the Portuguese Sports and Youth Institute, the Vila Real de Santo António City Council and the Vila Real de Santo António Parish Council .
