This Saturday, the Algarve athlete Ana Cabecinha broke the national record for the 3 meters of walking on the track, in the first round of the Portuguese Championships, in Pombal.

The marcher of Clube Oriental do Pechão covered the distance in 12.21,56 minutes, beating the mark that had been set by Susana Feitor in 1994 of 12.21,7.

Upon achieving this feat, Ana Cabecinha asserts itself more and more as the main Portuguese marcher.

In the last two Olympics, the marcher from Pechão, municipality of Olhão, always managed to be among the top ten classified in the marathon march. In 2012, in London, it was ranked 9th in a race in which the world record was broken.
