Algarve Bishop Dom Manuel Quintas will start a Pastoral Visit next weekend that will take him to parishes in the municipalities of Vila Real de Santo António (VRSA), Alcoutim and Castro Marim.
The first initiatives are planned for next Saturday, but the visit officially starts on Sunday.
Between January 27th and February 10th, the Pastoral Visit will take Dom Manuel Quintas to the parishes of Monte Gordo, VRSA, Castro Marim, Azinhal and Odeleite (see program below).
«Meetings with children, parents and catechists, with confirmations (in preparation to receive the sacrament of Confirmation), with pastoral and economic advice, with extraordinary ministers of communion, agents of liturgical animation, cleaning and ornamentation of churches, of action social charitable, with choral groups, party committees, parish center committees and reflection groups, are some of the activities that will take place during this visit, which will also take the bishop of the Algarve to visit the schools and homes of elderly and sick people in these localities», announced, in a press release, the Diocese of Algarve.
Dom Manuel Quintas has scheduled six pastoral visits for 2012-2013, namely to the parishes of Tavira (November 4th to 11th), Santa Luzia, Luz de Tavira and Santo Estêvão (December 9th to 16th), from Monte Gordo, Vila Real de Santo António, Castro Marim, Azinhal and Odeleite (now taking place), Alcoutim, Pereiro and Guiões (3rd to 10th March) and Martim Longo, Vaqueiros and Cachopo (28th April to 5th May ).
