Students from the University of Algarve today choose their representatives in the different bodies of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve for the year 2013. Filipe da Silva and Filipa da Silva head the two candidate lists for the General Board and know from the start that they will find a situation difficult financial situation, with global debts around 700 thousand euros.
The proposals of the two candidacies do not differ much in their guidelines and content. nuances in the priorities they assumed.
However, after the disclosure of the results of an audit of the association's accounts, last Friday, the next mandate, as well as the two that follow, should be heavily conditioned by the need to balance the accounts of what is also one of the main SMEs in the Algarve.
List A has Filipa Braz da Silva as its first element and also proposes Nelson Sobreiro as treasurer, Mauro Lopes as general secretary and António Canário as deputy general secretary.
List B, headed by Filipe da Silva, proposes João Pires as treasurer, Sandrina Pereira as general secretary and Carla Guerreiro as assistant general secretary.
The Fiscal Council also has two candidate lists, List F, headed by André Cardoso, and List G, whose first element is Raquel Pedro.
For the Magna Assembly Table, there is only one candidate list, led by Rita Correia. In the pedagogical centers, only in the Faculty of Economics there will be two lists in dispute.
