A 34-year-old Filipino crew member with a deep cut on one hand, who was on board the tanker “Travester”, which was sailing off Sines, was evacuated this morning to a hospital in Lisbon by an EH helicopter. -101 of the Portuguese Air Force.
The evacuation operation was coordinated by the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Lisbon), together with the Captain of the Port of Sines.
After medical advice from INEM and given the adverse sea conditions that were felt at the site, evacuation was only possible using the FAP EH-101 helicopter.
The evacuation was successful, with the EH-101 helicopter having landed at Figo Maduro airport, and the crew was taken in an INEM ambulance to Hospital Santa Maria, in a stable situation.
