Portimonense got this Sunday a 2-1 victory over Penafiel, in a game in which the Algarvians opened the scoring early, at 4 minutes, by Mica, but in which the first half was dominated by the northerners, who tied even earlier half-time (Diogo Viana, at 42 minutes).

In the second half, Portimonense entered more confidently, and took the lead in the 70th minute, in a goal scored by the young Simy, who had entered after the break, replacing William. Simy scored after an assist from Chico, achieving the goal from the goal line, leaving the goalkeeper from Penafidel in bad eyes.

This victory places Lázaro Oliveira's team in the top 10 of the II Liga, 10 points behind Sporting B, which is the leader, but has two games in hand.

At the end of the match, at the press conference, the coach of Portimonense admitted that it was a match with "two completely different parts". Lázaro Oliveira recalled that the Algarvians, despite having started well and quickly reached the advantage, retracted, allowing Penafiel's team to pick up the game and end up drawing.

However, in the second half, Portimonense appeared “transfigured for the better” and reached 2-1 “in a normal way”, through Simmy's goal, which was again fundamental in the final result of the Algarve.

Lázaro Oliveira praised "Simy's ability to work", who "has a lot to learn", now that he is 18 years old. "It has been improving, in these last two games it has been an important part of the team's maneuver", praised the coach.

Regarding his position in the table, Lázaro Oliveira admitted that, «compared to the previous season, when the team had 12 points» at this stage of the championship», he is «satisfied but moderate». "It's important for the team to go on collecting points," he added.
