The PS/Faro this Tuesday he denounced the "state of degradation" of the construction work of the North Bypass to the city of Faro, currently suspended, where «the damage that the last rains caused in various points of the route are visible».

The denunciation comes after a recent visit by Farenses socialists to the works on the Variante. In photographs sent to newsrooms by PS/Faro it is possible to see areas where there was landslides, which caused damage to areas that were already paved.

«The Socialist Party of Faro you are right when you warned, at a Chamber meeting in April 2012, about the destabilization of the slopes and last November about the degradation of the work already carried out on the North Bypass to Faro and the consequences that the abandonment of the work will have in its final cost for the State and for taxpayers», consider the socialists, in a Press Release.

The culprits of this situation, in the view of the main opposition party in Faro, are «the current PSD/CDS-PP majority in the Chamber of Faro and on the Government", on which the responsibility lies "for the delay, degradation and increase in the costs of completion" of the work.

The PS/Faro he accused the municipal executive of «making a purely electoral management of the Municipality even when benefiting his party is harming Faro and the public purse».

«The PSD/CDS-PP coalition in the City Council of Faro and in the Government must be held responsible for the deliberate delay in the restart of the works of the North Variant of Faro, with the objective of making its conclusion coincide with the municipal elections of 2013 and for the possible added costs for the Portuguese taxpayers with the degradation of the work already carried out», demanded the socialists.
