The last four days of the year will be synonymous with a party, if you want to be tough, at Jardim Pescador Olhanense, in Olhão.
The initiative «New Year's Eve at Marina de Olhão», which came from a businessman from the Municipality, was presented yesterday, Wednesday, at the Real Marina Hotel in Olhão.
The party will take place in a tent with different spaces, where there will be an area for the New Year's Eve dinner. In addition to the commercial component, the event will have a solidarity aspect, with 20% of the funds raised on the 30th, a Sunday, to revert to the ACASO association.
This will be the realization of "an old courtship" between the municipality and the businesswoman Maya, which began last summer, in the words of the mayor of Olhão Francisco Leal, present at the presentation session.
The municipality will provide logistical support and will provide public space for the installation of the party venue, but will not provide financial assistance. The part of the investment, which will be around "75 or 80 thousand euros", according to businessman Carlos Rosário, is a risk assumed by the company CR20, created this year.
Both Carlos Rosário and Maya, whose company was called in to produce the event, stressed that the event is held only with private funds. Maya even left a curious sentence regarding this theme.
“The president of the Chamber is a man of common sense, but he is a little “hooked” [to money] (laughs). We would have liked you to have contributed more, but I understand that you leave this role to the private. It reveals common sense,” he said.
The poster includes several national DJs, half of whom are from the Algarve. The event opens with a pair of musicians from the region, the collective Smash «very mobilizing in the Eastern Algarve», according to Maya. The other day guaranteed by a DJ from the region will be Sunday, with DJ Deelight, from Portimão, in charge of the public's entertainment.
On the two days that are expected to be stronger, Saturday and New Year's Eve, Monday to Tuesday, the option was for a DJ with national projection.
On the 29th, Saturday, DJ Eddie Ferrer will be in Olhão, "who is in the top five in Portugal", while on New Year's Eve the guest is Pedro Tabuada, a renowned name in Portuguese Dance Music.
That night, at the turn of the year, the artist Daniela P. will take the stage, who will perform «two or three themes». Tonight, businesswoman Maya said, other familiar faces will be present.
A party from an Olhanese to his land
Carlos Rosário, whose company leads a consortium that brings together, in addition to CR 20 and Maya Eventos, the Algarvean security company Especial 1, justified the choice of making this event "that could be held anywhere" with the fact that he was a son. of Olhão.
«It was a challenge that I set myself, when I created the company in February of this year», that of making a great event in the land where he was born and where he still lives today. “I don't think I can make a big financial benefit from it, but at least enough to pay the expenses. I want to show that you can do beautiful things in Olhão and bring more people here”, he illustrated.
The party will be held very close to the place where the event was presented, the only five-star Hotel in Olhão, which will already be fully booked for this period. A good sign for the promoters of the party, which is joined by the decision of the vast majority of restaurants on the Olhão waterfront to open on the night of December 31st. «Before, it was rare for the restaurant to open on New Year's Eve. I like to see that I'm also messing with the local economy,” he said.
Tickets for various tastes and bags
Those interested in going to the New Year's Eve party in Olhão can choose from different types of tickets, which vary between 55 euros, for all planned events, and 5 euros, admission price on Sunday. All modalities include one drink per night.
Admission for the four days, which will have to be pre-purchased, costs 25 euros. If you also want to have dinner at the venue on New Year's Eve, without wasting the rest of the days, the price will be 55 euros per person.
Those who opt for dinner and ticket on the 31st will pay 45 euros, while those who just want to party, after dinner, will pay 15 euros on that day.
On the days before New Year's Eve, entry will be €10 on Friday and Saturday, and €5 on Sunday.
