This Friday, December 21st, the mayor of Monchique delivered eight checks from the Enxoval do Bebé, worth 500 euros each, complying with the Regulation that has been approved and in force since July of this year.
According to Rui André, «Monchique City Council has as a strategic objective the affirmation and reinforcement of its intervention policies in the social area, having currently under development several social programs that aim to improve the daily lives of the citizens».
"It is understood that the family constitutes, in the current socioeconomic context, a privileged space for personal fulfillment and reinforcement of intergenerational solidarity, being the duty of the State and its deconcentrated bodies, in this case the City Council, to cooperate, support and encourage irreplaceable role that it plays in the community and that current demographic trends and those expected in the coming decades will translate into a significant decrease in the birth rate, it makes perfect sense to implement a set of measures specifically targeted at families, creating incentives additional, in order to control and counteract this reality and the problems resulting from it», adds the mayor.
«Hence the proposals and the Municipality's interest in promoting specific incentives that lead, on the one hand, to an increase in birth rates and, on the other, to the establishment and improvement of the living conditions of young families in the municipality, a measure is now presented. aims to contribute to improving the living conditions of newborns in the municipality», said the mayor of Monchique.
Other initiatives that the municipality has promoted in this context are «the return of 2,5% of the IRS to families, the maintenance of the IMI rate at the lowest values, proposals for exemption from urban taxes for young couples who intend to settle in the area of Monchique municipality and the amount paid at the Municipal crèche where the City Council supports more than 200 euros for each child against the cost price».
