The Left Block of Olhão will promote the cycle of debates «Jornadas sobre Olhão» to reflect on the county. The first debate, on the theme "Ria, environment and fisheries", will take place on Friday, at 21 pm, in the auditorium of Praça de Agadir and will be attended by MEP Marisa Matias.

It will also feature personalities representing institutional and civic areas, as well as technical, artistic and political specializations.

The session begins with the screening of the documentary “Visão Salgada” by documentary filmmaker Paulo Fialho. This is an unprecedented documentary about the salt extraction industry in Ria Formosa.

According to BE/Olhão, these initiatives will serve to "lay the foundations for the future campaign for the 2013 municipal elections".

The debates will be "in the line of inviting local participations, deepening knowledge about the Municipality and discussing ideas and proposals to create a sustainable alternative to municipal management".

“In a context in which there is a lack of transparency and lack of dialogue with the population, it is urgent to mobilize citizens to think together about the future of the city and the Municipality of Olhão”, conclude the blockists.
