The mountains of Monchique will once again be the stage, on 16 and 17 November, for another edition of Rallye Casinos do Algarve. With the national titles awarded, the focus of attention is on the possibility of a CPR2 vehicle being victorious overall.
The 41st edition of Rallye Casinos do Algarve marks the end of the rally season and will feature four competitions: Portuguese Championship, 2 Liters/2RM Championship, Portugal Cup and Southern Regional Championship.
After some uncertainty, João Silva goes to the rally with the #1 door with the ambition to fight for the victory in CPR. The opposition will come from the newly established Ivo Nogueira, who wants to close the season with a golden key.
In a majority of vehicles with two-wheel drive, the exception comes from Madeira, with João Magalhães participating with a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 10. In the assessment of the CPR2 vice-champion, the advantage is on the side of Renato Pita, who has Pedro Leal , Ricardo Marques and Paulo Neto as direct opponents.
The Portuguese Cup also comes to an end in the Algarve. Daniel Nunes leads the pack, motivated by his recent victory in Mortágua. But he has Ricardo Teodósio ahead of him, who is reuniting with João Luz to repeat the 2011 dose, where they were the great dominators.
Armindo Neves and Pedro Leone also looked for a standout result. Daniel Ribeiro and Carlos Fernandes use arguments in the fight for the TPR's two driving wheels. There is also the winner of the Modelstand Challenge, Diogo Gago, who will participate in a Citroën C2.
The 2012 edition of Rallye Casinos do Algarve also welcomes the CRRS squad. Marco Ferreira is the surprising leader of the regional, making the best use of the opponents' setbacks. At ease in the Monchique mountains, Márcio Marreiros wants to return to the top of CRRS. Jorge Rego and Ruben Tabaio are other names to keep in mind.
Keeping the structure of a compact rally, the rally will be based at the Hotel Algarve Casino, in Praia da Rocha in Portimão, although the competitive aspect will be on the roads of the Monchique mountains.
