A solitary goal by Ruben Fernandes this Sunday earned Portimonense a 1-0 victory over Tondela, in a game of the 12th round of the II League.

After a balanced first-half, with both teams depending on individual initiative or set-pieces, in the second-half Portimonense appeared more offensive.

And the goal ended up appearing in the 59th minute when Nelsinho crossed into the area and Ruben Fernandes jumped, surpassing the Tondelan defense, to score the only goal of the match.

The match ended with many protests from the home team, led by Vitor Paneira, against arbitration. First, towards the end of the match, and when the Tondelians were doing their best to reach a draw, Piojo seems to have been dragged into the area and the referee did not point out. Then, even close to the final whistle, Luís Aurélio fell into the area, knocked down by the Portimonense goalkeeper and again the referee didn't signal.

With this triumph, Portimonense is now in a quiet 11th place.
