A different posture, with a strong focus on cultural manifestations, a washed face and new blood. These are some of the points that characterize the «Barti Café», the new bar space in Pátio de Letras, in Faro, which opens this Friday, from 18:30 pm.

This is a partnership between the Faro bookstore/cultural space and two managers of establishments of this nature in Faro which intends to enhance the aspect of cultural events, which since the beginning of the project has gone hand in hand with the bookstore Leya no Pátio.

As of today, the bar at Pátio de Letras will be managed by Pedro and Tiago Bartilotti, who are already responsible for the bar “Os Artistas” and for “Espaço C” at Teatro das Figuras.

The objective, assumed by Pedro Bartilotti to the Sul Informação, is to keep those who have already made Pátio de Letras a mandatory point of passage as customers and launch “the network” to more customers, with the new management winking at the population «between 40 and 70 years old, who have very little offer in the city of Faro», in addition to those attending the other spaces they manage.

Something that is achieved not only with good service, but also with interesting initiatives. «Every month we will have an installation by a different artist. Exhibitions are not put aside, but we are going to bet more on installations», he revealed. Pedro Bartilotti prefers to keep a secret about the first guest artist, whose installation will be on display in November, but guaranteed that it will be “completely out of the ordinary”. “One of the places that we are going to favor is the entrance hall, as it has the ideal conditions for this type of artistic expression”, he added.

Another strong bet will be to combine delicacies with artistic expressions. «We are planning chocolate workshops, wine tasting. we will have a section of poetry, wine and chocolate once a month and another one called “Chazz Hour”, which will mix tea with jazz», he said.

"We will always have events, but those with greater impact will happen when we can use the entire space, both the interior and the terrace, which should happen from spring onwards", he said.

In a few months' time, "a Spoken Words festival and various music notes" are planned. In this last aspect, some will be “programmed in advance and others taking advantage of the passage of renowned artists in the region” or even in Andalusia. Jazz, Blues and Classic will be privileged.

In addition to its own events, the «Barti Café» will also benefit from the initiatives promoted by the bookstore Leya no Pátio, in what can be classified as a symbiosis. «Our coming here was already an old relationship. One of the reasons we are here is because we are in tune with [the creator and owner of Pátio de Letras] Liliana Palhinha, the great mentor of this space. The events that take place here have everything to do with the space and those that we will bring will also fit perfectly into its philosophy», he considered.

«Barti Café» will already support the event that tomorrow, Saturday, will bring actress Filomena Gonçalves to Pátio de Letras, who will show her first work, the children's book «O Misterioso Mundo de Guta», accompanied by Francisco Bush Flowers.

On November 6th, the Faro cultural space welcomes Daniel Sampaio who will present his latest book «Labirinto de Mágoas» and in between, on November 3rd, a Saturday, there will still be an opportunity to participate in the presentation of the work «Passagens Revoltas » from one of the founders of In Loco Alberto Melo.

The «Barti Café» will be open every day, with the hours between Sunday and Thursday between 10 am and midnight and on Friday and Saturday between 10 am and 2 am.
