World Tourism Day will be marked tomorrow, September 27, in Albufeira, with guided tours, in Portuguese and English, to Paderne Castle, classified as a heritage site of public interest since 1971.

Inserted in an area of ​​landscape with characteristics of the Algarve's baroque of great environmental richness, in a parish with more than seven centuries of history, the Castle of Paderne is currently closed to the public, and it is necessary to book in advance for visits by technicians. the Municipal Museum of Archeology of Albufeira or the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.

This year's World Tourism Day program aims to draw visitors' attention to the need to see tourism as an activity that should be integrated into the sustainable development of the county, which is known as one of the most important tourist centers in southern Africa. Europe, and to convey this message, the Municipality chose a monument located in an interior parish, in an area of ​​great heritage, environmental and landscape value.
