The 61st edition of the Festa de Alcoutim is here. From the 14th to the 16th of September, the village is transformed to give place to the last great entertainment of the Algarve summer, with the promise of a party from sunrise to sunrise.
On the main stage, on the Alcoutim pier, will be the well-known Portuguese popular singer Marco Paulo (14|Dia do Município), the Bandit Beatles (15|Day of Spain), tribute band to the Beatles, and Black Market (16|Day of Youth), band of raggae national.
This year the party features two new features, both to take place on Saturday (15th) - a pyromusical show, at 01:15 am, and a paella, which takes place at Praça da República, at 20:00. THE paella It is organized by the Sanluqueña association “La Viñavila”, identified as the “Yo soy portuñol” or “I am portunhol” movement, which has promoted several actions to unite more and more Portuguese and Spaniards.
During the day, the party takes place in the Alcouteneja village, with lots of street entertainment, music in Praça da República, sports activities and the tempting Feira dos Sabores.
In the evening, before the concert on the main stage, the band Top Sound brings back the old-fashioned ball, which has been gaining more and more followers. The disco completes the fun, which lasts until sunrise. Resistant ones are entitled to the well-known “cocoa no rio” breakfast.
The party is organized by the Municipality of Alcoutim and the profits revert to the construction of Lar dos Balurcos, a work of the Association for Social Solidarity, Culture, Sport and Art of the Balurcos.
