Monte Gordo it receives, between the 6th and 9th of September, the traditional Feast in Honor of Our Lady of Sorrows. The high point of the celebrations will be on Sunday, with the usual procession, a day that will also be reserved for the performance of the «Anjos» group, followed by a grandiose fireworks, in the middle of Baía de Monte Gordo.
The program starts on Thursday, September 6th, with the traditional Jogo do Donkey, at 15 pm. At night, at 00 pm, the band «Vide Versus» performs.
On Friday, September 7, at 17:30 pm, the sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated, followed by the recitation of the Rosary and the Eucharist.
At 21 pm the evening shows begin, with the performance of the Cultural Association of Spanish Dance of VRSA / Seville Group Gracia Diaz. At 45:22 pm, the group «Duo Reflexo» plays.
On Saturday, the 8th, the morning begins with a treasure hunt on the beach at 11:00 am, followed by a football tournament (veterans) that will put GD Beira-Mar and GD e Cultural das Neves face to face. At 19:30 pm, the religious celebrations begin and, at 22:00 pm, the band “Ones and Others” performs on stage.
On Sunday, September 9, the day begins with a sunrise with the musical band of the Vila Real de Santo António Cultural Association, followed by the celebration of the Eucharist at 9:00 am.
At 11:00 am, attention is focused on the challenge of pau de tallow and, an hour later, the traditional rowboat race takes place.
At 18:00 on Sunday, the traditional procession will take place, which will go through the main towns on Rua de Monte Gordo and will go to the sandy beach. Here, the image of Nossa Senhora das Dores will be received by the dozens of fishing boats that are at sea, decorated to perfection, fulfilling tradition once again.
Also on Sunday, at 22 pm, the performance of the group «Anjos» is scheduled, where you will be able to listen to some of the many successes that the Rosado brothers have created in the last decade.
At midnight, a grandiose fireworks display will take place on the sandy beach of Monte Gordo.
