CTT, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Faro and from the Culatra associations, Farole Hangares, assigned new zip codes to these nuclei of the barrier islands.
Thus, Ilha da Culatra has the postal code 8005-556 Faro, Farol will be 8005-554 Faro and Hangars 8005-555 Faro.
These three housing units had a postal traffic connection with a municipality to which they did not belong (Olhão). Now, with the assignment of these new zip codes, this relationship is already adjusted to the municipality of Faro to which they belong.
Over the years, the postal code has gained increasing importance, being assigned based on the postal traffic and the toponymy of each location. Its correct use makes the correspondence easier to reach the recipient, gaining quality in timely delivery.
