33 illegal street vendors, of eight nationalities, were fined for lack of license, following an action to combat illegal sales on the busiest beaches of the Portimão Captaincy area, promoted yesterday by the Maritime Police.

In the action, which included the participation of 12 members of the Military Police and four vehicles, various costume jewelry and food items were also seized as a precautionary measure and means of proof.

The defendants face an administrative offense process that may result in a fine of up to 2500 euros.

These actions aim to combat illegal sales, maintain the order of the beaches, the tranquility of bathers and combat unfair competition to legalized merchants.
