The fight against corruption in Portugal is the theme of a public session scheduled for July 14th at Leya no Pátio bookshop, in Faro.

The session, scheduled for 22 pm, will have as speakers the president and vice president of Transparency and Integrity, Civic Association (TIAC), Luís de Sousa and Paulo Morais, who will present and debate the main conclusions and recommendations of the National System study of Integrity (available online on the website http://integridade.transparency.pt).

The presentation is part of the Integrity Tour, which is touring the country, within the scope of the National Integrity System project, developed by TIAC, the Social Science Institute and think-tank Inteli.

The project consisted in the study of the main failures in the fight against corruption in Portugal, analyzing 13 pillars of society, ranging from the courts to the Government and Parliament, passing through sectors such as the media or private companies.

“What the study revealed to us is that the lack of political will is the greatest obstacle to a more effective fight against corruption. That is why it is essential that we mobilize the Portuguese for this debate. With the Integrity Tour, we want to bring the discussion to people and show how each one of us can make a difference», explains the president of Transparency and Integrity Luís de Sousa.

This event in Faro is organized in partnership with the Núcleo TIAC do Algarve.
