Guia Futebol Clube announced today, in a statement, that it was "forced to make the decision" not to compete in the 2012/2013 season in the senior level of regional football.

The Albufeira council club, in a statement signed by the board, explains that «the radical cuts in support by official entities» and the «serious economic crisis that our country is going through, with particular incidence in the Algarve» and the «consequent reduction sponsors” do not allow him to “assume the financial costs that the competition entails”.

The Guide adds that “it was a difficult decision, only taken after much thought and taken after all possible possibilities had been exhausted”.

Even so, the Guia Futebol Clube continues with all its other activities, namely training football at all levels».

Guia was founded in 1982 and last season it served in the 1st District Division of the Algarve Football Association. In 2004 he won the Algarve Cup.
