Real Picadeiro, an equestrian center located in Pêra that is committed to promoting the Lusitano Horse in the Algarve, through the Riding School and Equestrian Galas, held its first “Open Day” on June 10, Portugal, Camões and Communities Day Portuguese.

Among students, family members, friends from the equestrian center and residents of English nationality, many opted for a different Portugal Day, marked by Portuguese equestrian passion and Algarve flavors.

More than a dozen regional exhibitors – from sweets, to regional handicrafts, liqueurs, wines and the Associação Refúgio dos Burros – brightened the area with their art.

At the Cooking Show “Sabores Algarvios” Chef Luís Parreira revealed the secrets of preparing Algarve gazpacho to a curious audience of young people and adults.

The equestrian spectacle that closed the event drew loud applause from everyone. The Lusitanian horse – the oldest saddle horse in the world – with its agility, grace and dexterity – showed once again, under the pulse of the riders of the Royal Arena, why it is considered the quintessential horse for Equestrian Art and for the Bullfighting.

Next Saturday, June 23, from 18 pm, the Real Picadeiro opens its doors again to celebrate the Popular Saints, at the “Festa Real S. João” with popular entertainment, grilled sardines and grilled meat at your discretion. Entry ticket worth 30 per person.
