On June 27, at 21 pm, the Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Center will host an evening about “lucks” in Santos Populares, as part of the cycle “Serão com das Gentes de Alte”.
This session will address the “lucks” that were formerly practiced during the time of the Popular Saints. Beliefs or superstitions like running the shoe over the fire and throwing it to find out where the future groom is from, the luck with the bowl, the thistle flower, the fava beans, the little piles of salt on the bread board, among other things, will be brought to light in this conversation.
The cycle “Serão com as Gentes de Alte” aims to bring together the population in order to talk about issues or traditions related to this typical village in the Algarve mountains.
