The hotel offer in Mora and neighboring counties is already exhausted by the teams and delegations that will be present at the 32nd Club Fishing World Championship that takes place on June 2nd and 3rd, at the Cabeção International Sport Fishing Track , in that Alentejo county.

According to the municipality, the estimated participation of 180 athletes from 30 countries, in addition to the logistical delegation, including coaches, delegates, referees and secretariat, will mobilize more than 500 people, and the demand is currently extending to other municipalities in the districts of Évora and Santarem.

The city expects about 15.000 visitors in the two days of the Championship.

Mora was chosen because of the excellent natural conditions of the Ribeira do Raia that crosses the county, along with the existence of two international tracks for the sport, one of them, Cabeção, where the World Championship will take place, considered by the International Sport Fishing Federation “the best natural fishing track in Europe”.

For the Municipality, the Cabeção International Fishing Track takes up the old days, captivating 33 federated fishing competitions in this water feature last year alone.

In 2012, among scheduled events already held and to be held, there are 40 events, involving around 4.000 federated fishermen.

The Fluviário de Mora, the gastronomy and quality accommodation, as well as the fishing trails and the landscapes, have been the most important factors for the economic dynamics of the Municipality of mora, which as a whole attracted in 2011, and on average, 8.000 visitors per month, which exceeds the resident population (5.000).

In June, it hosts the Club World Cup, reinforcing Mora as one of the main municipalities in the country in the Rio Sport Fishing sector.
