After the success that constituted the first assembly related to the Participatory Budget of Portimão, which brought together 24 citizens in a high moment of democratic experience, the next assemblies are scheduled for April 13 at the Alvor Community Center, April 16 at the Instruction and Recreation Club Mexilhoeirense and April 25 in the main hall of Portimão City Hall, always from 18:30 pm.

Participants will have about two hours to, in a group dynamic, present, discuss and score their proposals, with the two most scored per table inscribed in the Participatory Budget, for subsequent technical analysis.

All proposals submitted under the Participatory Budget will be subject to technical analysis, which will take place between May 1 and July 31, during which the formulation of the respective projects to be put to the vote will also take place, as well as the complaint and response to questions that are asked by the interested parties.

At a later stage, which runs from September 1st to September 30th, the investment projects resulting from the proposals submitted will be subject to a vote by the citizens.

Proposals for the future

To participate in participatory assemblies, interested parties must register with the parish councils in the area of residence or at the assembly itself before the start of work, with the possibility of doing so through the process' website: http://participa.cm-portimao.pt/.

Until April 30, citizens can also submit concrete proposals for the future of Portimão via the internet, using the same website, which should not exceed 200 thousand euros each, for a global total of one million euros.

This is a unique opportunity for people to share what they would like to see carried out, what their ideas, projects or ambitions are to achieve in their land of affection, and participation can be done individually or in representation of an association.

As proposals must be objective, having as scope the territory of the municipality of Portimão and referring to the areas of competence of the City Council: Urbanism; Urban Rehabilitation; Housing; Public Spaces and Green Spaces; Environmental Protection and Energy; Sanitation and Urban Hygiene; Road Infrastructure, Mobility and Traffic; Citizens' Security; Tourism, Trade and Economic Promotion; Education and Youth; Sport; Social action; Culture; Administrative Modernization.

Citizens aged 18 or over and who are related to the municipality, whether residents, students or workers, can participate, as well as representatives of the associative movement, the business community and other civil society organizations.
