The Portimão City Council will mark the 38th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution in a different way, inviting all people to exercise their active citizenship and attend the last Participatory Budget meeting in Portimão, scheduled for 25 April , in the Main Hall of the Town Hall.

From 17 pm onwards, the “official room” of the local government in Portimão will open its doors to those who want to present and discuss an idea and project for the municipality. and elect the two most scored per table, which will be included in the Participatory Budget, for subsequent technical analysis.

Citizens aged 18 or over and who are related to the municipality, whether residents, students or workers, can participate, as well as representatives of the associative movement, the business community and other civil society organizations.

To participate, interested parties must register with the Parish Council of Portimão or with the assembly itself before the start of the work, with the possibility of doing so through the website http://participa.cm-portimao.pt/, address that must also be used until April 30 for the submission of proposals over the internet.

The proposals must be objective, having as scope the territory of the municipality of Portimão and referring to the areas of competence of the City Council: Urbanism; Urban Rehabilitation; Housing; Public Spaces and Green Spaces; Environmental Protection and Energy; Sanitation and Urban Hygiene; Road Infrastructure, Mobility and Traffic; Citizens' Security; Tourism, Trade and Economic Promotion; Education and Youth; Sport; Social action; Culture; Administrative Modernization.

 

Technical analysis and general voting

All proposals received will be subject to technical analysis, which will take place between May 1st and July 31st, during which the formulation of the respective projects to be put to the vote will also take place, as well as the complaint and the answer to questions raised by the interested parties.

At a later stage, which takes place between September 1st and 30th, the investment projects resulting from the proposals presented will be subject to vote by the citizens, and it should be noted that the maximum established for each proposal is 200 thousand euros, for a global total of one million of euros to be included in the Participatory Budget of Portimão for 2013.

In terms of the balance sheet as of today, they have already been presented 45 Proposals, being registered so far in the Participatory budgeting of Portimão a total of 144 citizens.
