The Serpa/Paymogo cross-border link is officially inaugurated on Saturday, April 21, at 11 am, with the opening of the International Bridge over the Chança stream.

On the occasion, João Rocha, Mayor of Serpa, and Josefina Cruz Villalón, from the Public Works Concegeria of the Junta de Andalucia, Spain, will be present.

The work, now completed, for a total value of 5.695.734 euros, began in 2005 with the widening and repaving of the municipal road that connects Cruz da Cigana to S. Marcos and from there to the Chança river, over a length of more than 10 kilometers and was a candidate for the Interreg IIIA Community Initiative, the HUBAAL project.

"This connection will allow mobility between the two sides of the border, contributing to the harmonious, balanced and sustainable development of the economic and cultural relations of the respective populations", stresses the Serpa Chamber in a press release.
