Promoting and disseminating the culture, history, archeology and landscape of the municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz is the objective of the 1st Photography Contest “Reguengos ComVida”, which runs until 29 April. The contest is aimed at professional and amateur photographers and entries are now open.
At stake is a two-night stay at the Horta da Coutada accommodation unit, a meal at the Xarez restaurant and a ride on the Sem-Fim Sailboat for two people, for whoever wins the competition. «The runner-up wins a two-night stay at the Bio-Oásis de Monsaraz accommodation unit, a meal at the Lumumba restaurant and an experience at the Olaria Patalim for two people. The third prize is a one-night stay at Solar de Alqueva, a meal at the O Aloendro restaurant and a visit to the CARMIM – Agricultural Cooperative of Reguengos de Monsaraz winery for two people», revealed the Chamber of Reguengos de Monsaraz, which organizes the competition, in a statement...
«The photographs submitted to the contest must have a title, be unpublished, current and cannot have a resolution lower than 3000×2000 pixels and 6 Megapixels. Participants must create a pseudonym that will be used throughout the process of selecting the winning photographs, since the name of the author will only be publicly revealed after the final decision of the jury, consisting of photographers José Manuel Rodrigues and António Carrapato, and by historian Paula Amendoeira», according to the organization.
Each participant can submit up to three photographs (JPEG or TIFF format). These will then be submitted to public voting on the Reguengos ComVida page on facebook (www.facebook.com/ReguengosComVida), through the “Like” option available in each photograph. The 15 most voted photographs by the public will be taken to the competition jury to choose the winners, integrating a group of finalist photographs that may be increased by decision of the judges up to a limit of 30.
«Participants can send the photographs by email ([email protected]), by mail (Apartado 6, 7201-970 Reguengos de Monsaraz) or delivered in person to the Tourism Services of the Municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz», the municipality said. After the end of the competition, the 15 best photographs of «Reguengos ComVida» «will be part of an exhibition organized by the Municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz».
