This Saturday, the «Splash» Dance Company from Vila Real de Santo António, received first prize at the Kirovograd Dance Festival, in Ukraine, being thus considered the best dance company among the sixteen in the competition.
The festival, of great importance and recognition at European level, took place between the 19th and 21st of this month in the city of Kirovograd, Ukraine. In this edition, in addition to the "Splash", representing Portugal, representations from Ukraine, Slovenia, Crimea, Russia and Belarus were in competition.
José Carlos Barros, vice-president of Vila Real de Santo António City Council, attended the festival at the invitation of Kirovograd City Council, where he participated in meetings with representatives of different municipal bodies and with technicians in the areas of culture and relations international.
In addition to the first prize awarded to the «Splash» company, the Portuguese delegation had also reserved a very special surprise at the closing session.
In an edition that took place under the motto of Friendship and Union Between Peoples, José Carlos Barros received from representatives of the festival organization the «Prémio Simpatia», awarded to the Portuguese delegation by the audience that filled the «Filarmonia» Auditorium during the different sessions of this Festival International.
Integrated in the Animashow Cultural and Recreative Association, the Dance Company «Splash» develops choreographic works with a view to participating in national and international dance competitions, considering dance in its educational dimension.
