Two men and a woman who were stealing the metal from the structure of a watchtower to prevent forest fires, which was located in the Ludo area, in Faro, were arrested this Thursday in the act by troops from the Territorial Post of Faro of the Republican National Guard.
The trio, equipped with a generator and angle grinder, cut all the iron in the structure into sections, with a view to transporting it in a light goods vehicle, being detained in the act when loading the iron, with the tower about 4 meters long. height, property of the City Council of Faro, completely destroyed.
The vehicle and the equipment used to cut the metal were seized and the detainees will be present today at the Court of Faro, for the application of coercive measures.
