The signing of the protocol established between the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and the Municipality of Portimão for the shared management of the Alcalar Interpretation Centre, which will become a hub of the Portimão Museum, is scheduled for 11:30 am on Saturday, the 24th March, at that monument.

On the same day, the Alcalar Interpretation Center reopens to the public with a program of activities linked to the discovery of megalithic monuments, challenging a journey back in time to five thousand years ago.

The megalithic ensemble of Alcalar was discovered and explored since the end of the XNUMXth century and is classified as a national monument, with two of its tombs open to the public, which allows visitors to have direct contact with the processes and materials involved in its construction.
