The Cine-Teatro Louletano receives, on the 17th (21:30 pm) and March 18th (16:00 pm), the premiere of the production “Paris, Hawaii beach”, under the network program «Movimenta-te Trajectories of cultural programming in network» , which involves the municipalities of Loulé, Faro, Olhão, S. Brás de Alportel and Tavira.

It is a spectacle that works like a beach, in it anything can happen – from humor to pleasure, from terror to the absurd, from joy to anguish of those who live in the Algarve, whether for a month or for a lifetime.

“In this show we live and look for an Algarve that is part of the world. The one that hides behind tourists, foreigners, burning dreams, long nights, the culture of the body and the murderous sun: an Algarve that looks at the sea, the Algarve forest, the barrocal in another way. A creation from the Algarve but also from the world that is rewritten today”, explain the producers.

For the production of “Paris, Hawaii beach”, which brings together music, theater and dance, three national artists were invited – Ainhoa Vidal and Madalena Victorino, choreographers, and Gonçalo Amorim, director – to imagine a show that had as its starting point the territory of the Central Algarve and each of its own cultures and traditions.

These breeders held a residency between January 2nd and March 6th in which they searched for elements of the cultures of these five places.

Local artists Ana Gabriel, Cláudia Ermitão, Luís Santos, Pedro Pires Pinto, Pedro Romeiras, Raquel Rua, Tomé Quirino and Victor Ortuño, who come from the areas of theater and dance, the interpreters and co-creators of this play, were invited to thinking and presenting a contemporary Algarve.

Musicians, dancers, actors and performers were invited to participate in a series of short labs – auditions and the end result is a heterogeneous group that can make very different realities appear on stage.

Artists were invited to intertwine local cultural heritage content and materials with their particular visions and ways of creating and building. The result is synergies that mix and fuse seemingly separate worlds that, in the end result, are connected and add something important to their original identity.

But in addition to these performers, the show will feature the participation of about fifty people from the local community, without any experience in the performing arts, but who have expressed interest and willingness to perform on stage in a project that speaks of their territory .

Invitations were launched for bikers, surfers and fishermen interested in venturing on stage and living a unique artistic experience.

The musical direction is in charge of Zé Eduardo, with Jorge Caeiro (accordion), Marco Martins (bass), Zé Eduardo (keyboards), Sónia “Little B” Cabrita (drums) and Javier Orti (tenor sax, soprano).

After this premiere in Loulé, the show will be presented in each city on the network, in different modalities: Faro, Teatro das Figuras, on the 24th (21:30 pm) and 25th (16:00 pm) of March; S.
