The GNR detained yesterday, Thursday, a 49-year-old Portuguese man, suspected of having stolen, from the interior of a house in Dunas Douradas, in Almancil, "a large amount of jewelry and other valuables."

According to the GNR, the man was recognized by the authorities through viewing the video surveillance images of the residence, which allowed the justification of the arrest warrants outside of flagrante delicto issued by the Public Ministry of Loulé.

The individual, registered for crimes of theft, receipt and attempted murder and who has even served a prison sentence, will be present today, January 27, at the Judicial Court of Loulé, for the 1st judicial interrogation.

The suspect is unemployed, homeless and is referenced by the authorities for the practice of theft in the area of ​​Almancil and Faro, "making theft their way of life and their only livelihood," adds the GNR.
