At the invitation of the Algarve Tourism Association (ATA), a member of the Via Algarviana project team went to the World Travel Market, in London, to make known this Great Route, as well as all the actions foreseen in the new application.

The World Travel Market, which is one of the largest tourism and travel fairs in the world, took place from the 7th to the 10th of November, and had 183 exhibitors worldwide.

Nature tourism and the Birdwatching segment are increasingly sought after products, as an alternative to sun and beach or as a complement, for this reason, Via Algarviana made a presentation on the 8th of November, in the auditorium of the Turismo de Portugal stand .

The opening session was held by António Pina, president of ATA, and was attended by around 30 people, including British journalists and tour operators.

The main objective of this participation was to publicize the project internationally, but also to sensitize agencies, tour operators and similar to the fact that Via Algarviana needs partnerships that contribute to its maintenance and so that the project becomes self-sustainable.

Via Algarviana is a registered trademark and, as such, the use of the image and wording depends on the authorization of the promoter, Almargem.

The Via Algarviana II project has 1,4 million euros and benefits from the co-financing of 950 euros from the PO Algarve 21, from the European QREN funds. The National contribution will be of 512 thousand euros, shared by Almargem, Autarquias, ATA and ERTA.
