Since this morning, three inspectors from the Judiciary Police have been searching the house of lawyer Duarte Lima in Quinta do Lago, Loulé.
Duarte Lima and his son were arrested this morning, as part of an investigation into Banco Português de Negócios (BPN). However, this arrest has nothing to do with the death of Rosalina Ribeiro.
At the moment, according to SIC, searches are being carried out in Lisbon, Porto and Algarve (at Quinta do Lago's house). In Porto, searches are being carried out in the home and office of Vítor Raposo, partner of Duarte Lima who is also reported to have been arrested.
The Attorney General, speaking to TVI, admitted that searches were being carried out. "Right now, what is going on, with less apparatus and more description, which is what I asked for and is being fulfilled, are searches for documents that are necessary for the investigation and then the Public Ministry will say at the time and the judges will say also what will happen», Pinto Monteiro told TVI.
According to a report by Antena1 on the program Portugal em Direto/Algarve, the three PJ inspectors – two men and a woman – arrived at Duarte Lima's villa in Quinta do Lago at around 7:00 am, but only entered the house at around 8 am 00:13 am, having been welcomed by the caretaker. The elements of the Judiciary went out again around 15:XNUMX pm, presumably for lunch.
Officially, the Quinta do Lago house does not belong to the lawyer and former PSD parliamentary leader Duarte Lima, but to an offshore company, Birdwells Ltd, and the house is valued at 5,8 million euros.
According to Publico.pt, the lawyer and former deputy Duarte Lima, despite being arrested this morning, is still at his house, which is being searched by prosecutors and investigating judge Carlos Alexandre.
As Duarte Lima's office works at his residence, a representative of the Bar Association is also present there.
This diligence aims to collect all documents or objects relevant to the process, and at the end Duarte Lima will be taken to the Central Criminal Investigation Court, where he will be questioned by the investigating judge.
The former PSD deputy had already been appointed as a defendant in this inquiry.
Duarte Lima's son is being held in the prison facility attached to the Judiciary Police, in Lisbon. You are suspected of having committed the same crimes your father is suspected of.
