Portuguese Manuel Ferraz and English Claire Elms were the winners of the 20th edition of the X Miles of the Guadiana, which took place yesterday, November 6, from Vila Real de Santo António to Ayamonte.

In this competition, which annually crosses the Guadiana River International Bridge, leaving the Vila Real de Santo António Sports Complex and arriving at the Municipal Stadium Blás Infante, in Ayamonte, with a total distance of 17.300 meters, around 690 athletes participated.

Manuel Ferraz, from Clube Desportivo Areias de São João, in the Senior Men category, was the big winner, finishing the race in 54m.36 seconds, while the female victory went to Claire Elms, from Dulwich Road Runners, in the Senior Women category, who completed in 1h 17m 53s.

From the total of 690 registered, only 614 athletes completed the race.

The X Miles of the Guadiana is organized by the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, the Ayuntamiento de Ayamonte, the Patronato del Deporte de Ayamonte and the Grupo Desportivo Pic-Nic.
