Olhanense defended well and Porto attacked badly. The result of 90 minutes with this pattern was a draw to zero, the night Fabiano – saved a penalty – and not Hulk, was the hero.
The game's history is not very long in terms of scoring opportunities. If there was a need to save characters in the chronicle of this game, it would be possible to speak only of minute four.
Porto won a penalty, for Maurício's foul on Kléber, Hulk – a shadow of the player who stepped on this same pitch last season – shot to the goalkeeper's left side, but Fabiano denied him the goal with a great save and also canceled the reload by deflecting the ball to a corner with his foot.
Olhanense responded to the penalty kick only in the 22nd minute, when after a corner from the left, the ball was left at the far post for Mexer, who fired over the top.
What happened between the 2nd minute – when the penalty kick was awarded – and the 22nd is a good example of what the whole match was like. A brave Olhanense defending, looking to launch counterattacks, and a Porto unable to overcome the defensive barrier in Algarve, missing many passes.
The danger only returned to the goal after 46 minutes, when Moutinho, following a short corner, crossed to the far post and Rolando and Maicon arrived late for the amendment.
Porto started more dangerous in the second half and, in five minutes, created two chances, but Hulk, first, and Mangala later, failed to hit the goal.
Until the end of the match, taking away a shot that Ismaily cut towards his own goal, in the 71st minute, Porto could not create any more danger and Olhanense took the opportunity to put the blue-and-white defense into sense with quick counterattacks that took advantage of the advance of the Porto team.
In one of those moves, in the 78th minute, Hélton had to apply himself by defending for a corner a shot by Wilson Eduardo that had the seal of a goal.
In the final part of the match, Porto moved up even more on the ground, but that didn't create any danger for Fabiano's goal, he, who had decided the final result in the fourth minute.

I'm disappointed with the result because we wanted to win and we worked hard during the game to take the three points away. We created goal situations to win, we missed some situations that could have taken us to victory. I also think that Mr João Capela did not have a happy night, because in addition to the expulsion of Maurício, who would have to be expelled, there is at least one more penalty that was left unmarked. Then there was bad luck, because the game we played and the attitude we had deserved another result. The penalty, if it had been carried out, clearly changed the matrix of the game. Then we would have an Olhanense who would have to look for another result and the spaces would open up, we could develop our game in a different way. Olhanense was always with a very low block, here and there trying to counterattack, but FC Porto did not allow any situation, taking another shot. FC Porto was much superior and clearly justified leaving here with three points.

Making a point, even at home, with FC Porto, is always a positive result considering our goals. If I were saying that this tie knew a little while ago, I would be in another dimension. However, we could have scored the goal, just as Porto had its chances. It's a positive result, which fits in with what was played, safeguarding the difference between the two teams.
We were tactically irreproachable, we achieved our goals, not entirely – because when we prepare a game it is always to win it.
[On the saved penalty] If we conceded a goal opening the game, at that moment, it would affect the whole strategy, as happened last week, and would force us to go looking for the result and we would enter what Porto is strong, giving spaces for transitions.
