The projects for the execution of the Vila da Luz Primary School and Kindergarten School and the Onze Football Field were approved. The decision was taken at the last meeting of the City Council of Lagos.
The one that represents the last action of the Lagos School Network Reorganization and Expansion Plan took a new step, with the approval, at a Chamber meeting, of the execution project of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Kindergarten Schools of Vila da Luz.
The project for the execution of the Onze Football Field was also approved, equipment to be installed next to the school, «but whose development will be done independently», stresses the Câmara de Lagos in a press release.
Contrary to what was planned, the school equipment to be built in Vila da Luz will have the number of classrooms reduced. “This measure is determined by the alteration of the initial assumptions regarding the evolution of the school population, which has been registering a notable decrease since the beginning of this project”, explains the municipality.
The project for this School Center in the parish of Luz (which will serve all children in the parish and entails the closure of other existing schools) will cost around 1,5 million euros and benefit from a contribution from the QREN of around 40% .
The Football Field, on the contrary, «will have to wait for a better opportunity, given the financial difficulties that the country and the Municipality are going through».
