The XIV International Ascent of the Rio Arade in Canoeing will take place on the 8th of October. The competition, promoted by the municipalities of Silves, Lagoa and Portimão, and logistically by the Clube Naval de Portimão (CNP), has the support of the Portuguese Canoeing Federation and ARCA (Algarve Regional Canoeing Association).

Aiming to establish the Rio Arade as a privileged stage for the practice of nautical sports, the Rio Arade International Ascent encompasses two aspects: one of Nautical Tourism, starting at 9:30 am, and the other of Competition, starting at 10:00 am. Both depart from the riverside area of Portimão, next to the Clube Naval.

The route will be done in calm and shallow waters, influenced by the tidal current.

In the Nautical Tourism aspect, all interested people can participate, as long as they are over 10 years old and have their own boat and vest.

In the competition aspect, only clubs and associations can participate, which is subject to specific regulations available on the Federation's portal.

Registration costs 10 euros (with the right to sports insurance, t-shirt and convivial lunch), and must be made until October 4th at the CNP.

For more information, interested parties can consult the regulation of the event on the website www.cm-silves.pt or contact the CNP via contact 282417529 or email [email protected].
