A musical journey that crosses the Iberian Peninsula, Italy and the American and African continents is the proposal of Maria de Medeiros' concert for next Saturday (17th), at the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão.

The actress and singer will present her latest album on a night in which Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, Italian and English will meet on stage in melody, from 21 pm.

The album «Penínsulas & Continentes» shows the influences of Maria de Medeiros' passage through Europe, Brazil, Mozambique and Angola to promote her first record work: «A little more blue».

Hence the inspiration to choose the themes and poems for the new album, where the classics of Italian Nino Rota, resistance songs, African fado and Brazilian and Spanish rock are visited.

Maria de Medeiros will be accompanied by her original jazz trio – Pascal Salmon on piano, Ricardo Feijão on bass and Edmundo Carneiro on percussion.

Despite being best known for her acting career, which accounts for her participation in more than 30 plays and 80 films, Maria de Medeiros already has her name inscribed in the song. Not only for the two albums released in 2006 and 2010, but also for the frequent collaboration with other musicians, such as The Legendary Tigerman or guitarist Raimundo Amador.

Tickets for this «Allgarve'11» concert have a single price of 15 euros and are on sale throughout the Ticketline network (Fnac, Worten, Dolce Vita Shopping Centre, El Corte Inglés, CTT stations, Abreu agencies, www.ticketline.pt) and at the venue (Monday to Friday, from 14 pm to 00 pm).
