CAMP, the non-festival in an Algarve vineyard, starts this Friday at Morgado do Quintão

The non-festival brings together musicians, creators and thinkers to celebrate the land, meaning and beauty

CAMP, the non-festival in an Algarve vineyard, starts this Friday, October 7th, and presents a program that includes concerts, talks, workshops, wine tasting and the opportunity to relax in a unique environment in communion with nature.

It is in a magical place, between the countryside, the sea and the mountains, that the first edition of CAMP, a side project promoted by Morgado do Quintão, the irreverent producer of wines from the Algarve, which has the support of the Municipality of Lagoa.

One of the pillars of this partnership between Morgado do Quintão and the Municipality of Lagoa is to promote and facilitate access to culture by the closest community.

In this sense, CAMP'22 offers tickets at special prices for residents of the Municipality of Lagoa, holders of the Lagoa Cultural Passport and young people up to 25 years of age who, in this way, can enjoy the nightly cultural program and the unique space of the event at a discount. of 50%.

CAMP is not a music festival. It is a meeting between music and culture that come together as a field guide for each person to get lost. And meet. A stage that invites the expansion of thought through art, music, joy and sharing, and the celebration of life.

The event takes place among ancient vineyards, under an ancient olive tree and with the imposing Monchique mountains as a backdrop where, over three days, musicians, creators and thinkers will gather for a non-festival in which music will have a prominent place, combined with a challenging cultural program proposal, on an intimate scale.

The doors of Morgado do Quintão open every day at 14:00 pm and the activities that make up CAMP'22 start at 15:00 pm, providing visitors with access to a cultural program that lasts until the evening, when they take the Carminho stage ( October 7th), Bruno Pernadas (October 8th) and Mário Laginha (October 9th).

The participation of these artists in CAMP'22 is not limited to the artistic concepts they present on stage. On October 7th, before the opening of the venue, Carminho will receive a group of ESPAMOL students for a conversation about music, the Fadista's career and the dreams that move her. On the 8th, after his concert, Bruno Pernadas will host a conversation between the CAMP'22 audience and the musician.

Finally, Mário Laginha will give a class open to students from the Bemposta School Group on the afternoon of October 09th, the date of his concert. In this way, in the extension of the concept associated with CAMP, the artists will be in direct contact with the public, promoting the proximity of the participants in the event with the musicians who will share stories and memories of their lives and careers in an environment conducive to the exchange of experiences.

In the three days of the event, the program begins with Talks, a cycle of conversations with guests that focuses on a reflection on the main themes of CAMP'22 – “Land, Meaning and Beauty”. The Talks take place between 15:00 pm and 18:00 pm, in the form of lectures, informal exchanges of ideas or intimate conversations. Regardless of the format, there are always 2 blocks of activities happening at the same time.

In the living room of one of the houses on the property, ideas and content are projected, in 30-minute lectures followed by a space for questions and answers. Alternatively, in the shade of the ancient olive tree, intimate conversations take place, on different topics in a fusion between speakers and listeners. On the first two nights of the event (October 7th and 8th), after the concerts, there will also be informal debates by the fire, for those who want to stay and share experiences into the night.

In the CAMP'22 experience that was designed for this 1st edition, Morgado do Quintão wine tastings could not be missing, which take place every day of the event from 16:00 to 17:00. The competitions are led by Joana Maçanita (7th and 8th) and Filipe Caldas de Vasconcellos, responsible for Morgado do Quintão and founder of CAMP (9th of October).

The CAMP'22 program also includes ceramic, recycled wood and ecology workshops that take place in the property's old mill, providing visitors with the possibility of getting to know this space in its entirety while enjoying a series of cultural activities.

This cycle of workshops, dubbed “Gentes da Nossa Terra”, will be developed in partnership with the Loulé Design Lab, a creation, research and experimentation laboratory integrated in the Loulé Creative Project of the Loulé City Council.

CAMP'22 is carried out in close partnership with the Municipality of Lagoa, which plays an important role in supporting projects that aim to contribute positively to the socio-cultural development of the municipality.
