Portimonense drew 1-1 with Boavista, in a game of the 5th round of the I League of football, played this Sunday, 12 September, at Estádio do Bessa, in Porto. The Algarve team was winning almost until the end, but conceded a goal already in added time.

After the defeat at home against Paços de Ferreira – and the break for national teams -, Portimonense returned to the field for a game that, traditionally, is not easy.

The initial minutes were of study by both teams; without great chances of a goal, the Algarvians and Chessmen were looking for the opposing goal without causing any real danger.

The first warning – worthy of the name – was given on the 24th minute, when Musa saw Samuel Portugal ahead and tried to make a hat to the Portimonense goalkeeper. The ball went over the top.

At 33′, Malheiro, isolated inside the area, had everything to score, but also shot wide, after a confused move.

The game was heading towards half-time when the marker was opened.

It all started with a good play by Fali Candé who crossed from the left to Carlinhos, in the middle of the area, receiving, turning and shooting into the back of the net. Portimonense's goal was scored in the 45th minute.

In the second half, Boavista appeared more attacking, but who could have extended their advantage was Portimonense.

Again in a good attacking move, Moufi took out an opponent on the way, moved to the edge of the area or Ewerton shot to a tight defense by Bracali (55′).

As the minutes went by, Portimonense was forced to pull back the lines in the face of Boavista's greater attacking insistence. The Algarvians always showed great help, but towards the end, Boavista got the tie.

Musa, free in the area, shot after a cross by Ntep. At the beginning of the play, the athletes of Portimonense protested for an alleged foul under Aylton Boa Morte.

Portimonense now has 7 points and is in 8th place.

In the next round, Paulo Sérgio's team will host Santa Clara (Friday, the 17th, at 20:15).
