During the 1st half of 2024

The Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS) in the Algarve, which are part of the solidarity network of social canteens, will serve 730 meals a day, during the first half of 2024, under an agreement signed in March between the District Center of Faro Social Security and various institutions.

In practice, addenda were made to the collaboration protocol with IPSS in the Algarve, within the scope of the convention of the solidarity network of social canteens for the food emergency program (PEA).

«The agreements concluded enable the Algarve region to serve a total of 730 meals daily, during the 1st half of 2024, as a complementary food support measure», according to Social Security.

The social canteen is part of the Solidarity Network of Social Canteens, «constituting an intervention response within the scope of the PEA, which provides users with daily meals intended, preferably, for external consumption».
